A little information about who I am and why I am dedicated to helping people get back to their lives.
I am a certified acupuncturist in the state of New Jersey and also certified as a Diplomat in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I attended the Eastern School of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Montclair, New Jersey. I also attended the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York where I received my certification in holistic health.
My education and experience helps me to treat my patients on many different levels. Treating with Acupuncture helps patients achieve greater physical and emotional relief. The holistic health coaching provides patients the tools needed to effectively change habits and lifestyle. Both approaches promote healing so that my patients are left with the possibility of living life to the fullest.
My Personal Challenge and Victory – Why I Chose Acupuncture?
After I had shoulder surgery in 2001 I was in more pain than before the procedure. Six months of Physical Therapy and additional surgery to “manipulate” my shoulder, did not prove successful so I was resigned to a life of pain. After a year and a half I was desperate, I turned to a holistic health practitioner who recommended Acupuncture. I had never heard of Acupuncture but I was willing to try ANYTHING.
I remember thinking during my first treatment (on the table with needles inserted) that this is where life had brought me. I almost cried thinking that I had needles inserted into my skin and was hoping that this would work because nothing else had. I remember also feeling peaceful despite the anxiety of the needles. The practitioner was a soft spoken woman whose voice was soothing and calming. Once the treatment was over – my pain had dissipated greatly. My cynicism immediately made me think that I should not get TOO excited since the pain would be back the next day.
The following day I woke up very energetic and felt great. I remembered at 2:30 that I had not eaten anything the entire day. At that point I stopped and noticed that my shoulder pain was non-existent. I could not believe the results. I felt better than I had felt in a VERY long time. More importantly, I was hopeful that with Acupuncture I had found the relief that I had been looking for.
Needless to say the journey of my healing began with one treatment. The thoughts that I had on the table “this is where life had brought me” meant more than I imagined at the time. I decided that since I had been blessed with this healing modality, I wanted to help others feel the same.
